Updated Australian Demos

Earlier this year, I realised there was a layer of dust on my Australian demos that was thicker than the icing on a lamington. Being based in the UK and with my natural accent having shifted over the years towards something a little more British, it is easy to neglect the home town sound I once rocked every day. So it was definitely time for an update.

This time I was absolutely adamant that if I was going to record a new Australian voiceover demo, I wanted an Aussie at the helm. The last time I recorded one, I mispronounced a town name and my family has never let me forget it. Lesson learned. So I asked around the voiceover community and the general consensus pointed to Darren ‘Robbo’ Robertson at VooDoo Sound as the perfect place to start.

From the very first conversation I knew I was in safe hands. Robbo helped me refine my scripts and shape a selection that showcased a proper range of Australian styles for commercial, corporate and narration work. The result was a demo that truly reflects both my roots and my current experience as a working voiceover artist.

Another exciting element of this project was that it became my first Australian demo recorded remotely from my own professional studio here in Sussex while Robbo worked his magic over in Sydney. It is amazing how seamless remote production has become and it meant we could collaborate as if we were in the same room.

I am genuinely thrilled with how the final demo turned out and it is a pleasure to share it with you. So grab a sausage in bread, dip your Tim Tam in a cup of tea and wrap your ears around my brand new Aussie demo.

Enjoy the listen and if you need an authentic Australian voiceover, especially one based in the UK, I would love to help.
